Its romantic landscape depicts the Ponte Salaro near Rome, derived from a late eighteenth-century view of the Italian countryside. Rendered in a wonderfully rich, dark cobalt blue against a warm creamy ground, the scene is surrounded by an elaborate floral border and distinctive gadrooned edge. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis charming shaped serving dish was traditionally used for pickles, relishes and other small accompaniments at the table. Today, its versatile form lends itself beautifully to modern use, whether serving olives, nuts or small bites, or repurposed as a catchall, trinket or jewelry dish. No. 90067. According to documented Copeland factory marks, the impressed mark was used from 1890 to approximately 1935, while the printed Tower backstamp was introduced around 1902. Together, these marks date this example to approximately \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e1902–1935\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. An additional impressed production date code is present but partially obscured by the printed backstamp and cannot be read with certainty. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eExcellent condition with no chips or cracks. Clean and bright with only light wear consistent with age.
