Far more distinctive than the traditional chamberstick, this example features an ingenious patented threaded candle socket with the charming instruction \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e“SCREW THE CANDLE INTO THE SOCKET”\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e incorporated directly into the design. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe earthenware chamberstick is beautifully decorated in a sophisticated palette of deep green, cream and gilt, with stylized floral and foliate motifs characteristic of the Aesthetic Movement. Fine geometric borders surround the generously sized circular base, while hand-applied gilded details add just the right amount of ornamentation.
