The lovely Genovese pattern features a romantic architectural landscape framed by lush florals and scrolling foliage, all rendered in wonderfully rich shades of flowing cobalt blue. The softly scalloped rim adds another charming detail to this antique dinner plate.

Edge, Malkin & Co. registered their distinctive greyhound trademark in 1873, a lovely connection to the history of Staffordshire pottery. With its beautifully detailed decoration and classic English character, this plate would be equally at home on a thoughtfully collected table, displayed in a cabinet, or incorporated into a blue and white plate wall. Especially lovely mixed with other antique transferware patterns.

Details

· Maker: Edge, Malkin & Co., Burslem, England
· Pattern: Genovese
· Period: Victorian
· Material: Glazed earthenware
· Decoration: Flow blue transferware
· Backstamp: Greyhound trademark, registered 1873
· Size: Dinner plate
· Dimensions: 9 1/4”
· Condition: Excellent antique condition.
