A striking antique Chinese blue and white porcelain Double Happiness ginger jar, likely dating to the Late Qing Dynasty to Early Republic period, circa late 19th to early 20th century. Beautifully decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, the substantial jar features the traditional Double Happiness (囍) symbol surrounded by loosely rendered scrolling floral and foliate decoration, with a geometric border encircling the shoulder. The hand-painted cobalt linework, traditional decoration, and rustic clay visible along the unglazed rim are characteristic of older Chinese export porcelain.
An especially fascinating feature is the surviving Chinese Customs Examination export seal marked “B06” affixed to the interior base. Often referred to by collectors as a Jianding seal, these examination seals were used by Chinese cultural authorities during the mid-to-late 20th century as part of the process for approving cultural objects for legal export. The seal indicates that the piece was examined and cleared for export rather than classified as a restricted cultural treasure. The B06 seal itself is not a manufacturing date and does not independently establish the age of the porcelain; rather, it provides an interesting record of the jar’s later export history.
The jar is accompanied by an antique blue and white prunus blossom lid from a compatible period. Please note that the lid is associated and not original to the Double Happiness jar, although it fits and displays beautifully with the piece.
With its impressive scale, wonderfully aged porcelain, classic Double Happiness decoration, and surviving customs examination seal, this is an exceptional piece of Chinese porcelain with both decorative presence and an intriguing history. Beautiful displayed on a console, mantel, bookshelf, or incorporated into a collected blue and white or chinoiserie interior.

We have a 7-day return policy on NEW items, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return. You will be refunded in store credit to be spent at Shoplilliangrey.com within 6 months.
Vintage and antique items cannot be refunded or returned unless it has been damaged in the shipping process. We require photos of the item(s) and packaging, (which will help us to assess the handling process and prevent further losses.) After which point you will be issued a full refund on your order.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Within 10 days of delivery - Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Each item has its own unique story, if you are not happy with the item then we hope we can continue your story with our company and find something that suits you better. That item is now yours, we can only refund you in store credit for Shoplilliangrey.com if the item was damaged in the shipping process. (Some items have endured some alterations to their original state and will be sold AS IS. Please take note of each item's description to see if the unique character is suitable to you.)
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You have 7 days from the delivery date to initiate your return on NEW items only.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded in store credit once approved.
