A beautiful antique brown transferware gravy boat featuring an intricately detailed architectural landscape in warm brown against a creamy white ground. The central scene depicts classical ruins and architectural elements surrounded by trees and foliage, while an elaborate floral and scrolling border follows the upper edge and continues across the gracefully shaped handle and pouring lip. Resting on four small feet, the gravy boat has a wonderfully sculptural profile with a high loop handle and elongated spout. The combination of romantic scenery, elaborate transfer decoration and fanciful form reflects the historic transferware tradition popular throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. There are no visible identifying maker’s marks on the underside, so the maker and exact pattern remain unknown. Rather than make an uncertain attribution, this piece is being offered simply as an antique brown transferware gravy boat, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. This piece was sourced in Italy from the same dealer as the Colandine and Corinthian brown transferware also featured in this collection. Very good antique condition with no chips or cracks. There is overall age-related crazing along with staining and discoloration, particularly to the interior. These are consistent with the age and history of the piece and contribute to its beautifully timeworn character. Please review photographs carefully as they are considered part of the description.

We have a 7-day return policy on NEW items, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return. You will be refunded in store credit to be spent at Shoplilliangrey.com within 6 months.
Vintage and antique items cannot be refunded or returned unless it has been damaged in the shipping process. We require photos of the item(s) and packaging, (which will help us to assess the handling process and prevent further losses.) After which point you will be issued a full refund on your order.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Within 10 days of delivery - Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You have 7 days from the delivery date to initiate your return on NEW items only.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded in store credit once approved.
