An exceptional and richly decorative Napoleon III–period Old Paris porcelain corbeille de fruits, dating to the mid-19th century. This grand centerpiece exemplifies the opulence of the era, featuring an elegant reticulated bowl hand-painted in sumptuous Pompadour pink, lavishly accented with intricate hand-applied gold gilding. The ruffled rim showcases a graceful Rococo Revival pierced design, crowned with scrolling detail and oval cutouts, and is raised on a refined pedestal base. Crafted in two bolt-fastened sections, the piece displays meticulous workmanship typical of fine Vieux Paris porcelain. Each side of the bowl is adorned with a gilded monogram—likely “JC”—rendered in flowing script with a delicate central flourish, adding both charm and historical intrigue.
Corbeilles such as this were traditionally used to display fruit or sweets and served as symbols of refinement and prosperity in 19th-century French interiors. The underside is unmarked aside from an impressed “V,” consistent with Old Paris porcelain production of the period. A striking survivor of its age, this piece functions beautifully as a statement centerpiece for a dining table, console, or mantel.
Condition:
The bowl sits slightly askew on its pedestal with a gentle wobble, likely due to an aged fastening bolt (which could be tightened or replaced if desired). Minor chipping is present at the joint where the two sections meet, along with light wear to the gilding—all consistent with age and historical use. Overall, the piece remains in remarkably good antique condition and displays beautifully.

We have a 7-day return policy on NEW items, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return. You will be refunded in store credit to be spent at Shoplilliangrey.com within 6 months.
Vintage and antique items cannot be refunded or returned unless it has been damaged in the shipping process. We require photos of the item(s) and packaging, (which will help us to assess the handling process and prevent further losses.) After which point you will be issued a full refund on your order.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Within 10 days of delivery - Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

That item is now yours, we can only refund you in store credit for Shoplilliangrey.com if the item was damaged in the shipping process. (Some items have endured some alterations to their original state and will be sold AS IS. Please take note of each item's description to see if the unique character is suitable to you.)
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You have 7 days from the delivery date to initiate your return on NEW items only.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded in store credit once approved.
