A beautiful pair of antique English oak candlesticks, each featuring a deeply turned barley-twist column, substantial circular base, and original-style brass drip pan.
The dark oak has developed a rich, warm patina that beautifully highlights the spiral carving, while the brass tops add just the right amount of contrast. Their tall, slender proportions make them especially striking on a mantel, dining table, console, or library shelf.
Dating to the early 20th century, this style was particularly popular during the Edwardian period and into the 1920s. Comparable English examples of nearly identical height and base diameter are documented from circa 1900–1920.
