A beautifully atmospheric 19th-century English oil on canvas by A. Coleman, signed and dated 1885 at the lower left.
Titled Millpond Fishing, the scene depicts a gentleman fishing from a rustic wooden bridge beside an old stone watermill, surrounded by dense woodland and reflected water. Soft blues, mossy greens, warm stone and deep woodland tones give the painting the quiet, romantic character associated with Victorian English landscape painting.
The architectural mill, working waterwheel and small solitary figure create wonderful depth and narrative within the composition. It is particularly lovely for an English country, traditional, equestrian-inspired or collected interior.
Presented in an ornate giltwood frame with scrolling foliate and floral decoration. The frame makes a significant decorative statement in its own right and gives the painting an impressive overall presence despite the intimate scale of the canvas.

Antique condition with age-related wear consistent with a painting approximately 140 years old. The gilt frame displays the character and patina expected of its age. Please review photographs closely as they form part of the condition description.

We have a 7-day return policy on NEW items, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return. You will be refunded in store credit to be spent at Shoplilliangrey.com within 6 months.
Vintage and antique items cannot be refunded or returned unless it has been damaged in the shipping process. We require photos of the item(s) and packaging, (which will help us to assess the handling process and prevent further losses.) After which point you will be issued a full refund on your order.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Within 10 days of delivery - Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items

Each item has its own unique story, if you are not happy with the item then we hope we can continue your story with our company and find something that suits you better. That item is now yours, we can only refund you in store credit for Shoplilliangrey.com if the item was damaged in the shipping process. (Some items have endured some alterations to their original state and will be sold AS IS. Please take note of each item's description to see if the unique character is suitable to you.)
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You have 7 days from the delivery date to initiate your return on NEW items only.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded in store credit once approved.
