A wonderful matched right- and left-facing pair of antique Staffordshire flatback figures, each depicting a beautifully dressed milkmaid standing beside a cow in a pastoral landscape.
Dating to the mid-to-late 19th century, these charming English pottery figures reflect the Victorian fascination with idyllic country life and pastoral subjects. Each figure is hand decorated with soft polychrome enamels and delicate gilt accents, while the molded grassy bases and wonderfully expressive cows give the pair tremendous folk-art character.
Designed as flatback figures for mantel display, the pair was created to be viewed primarily from the front and sides. Their opposing right- and left-facing compositions make them particularly beautiful displayed together on a mantel, sideboard, console, or bookshelf.
As is common with many genuine 19th-century Staffordshire figures, the pair is unmarked.

We have a 7-day return policy on NEW items, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return. You will be refunded in store credit to be spent at Shoplilliangrey.com within 6 months.
Vintage and antique items cannot be refunded or returned unless it has been damaged in the shipping process. We require photos of the item(s) and packaging, (which will help us to assess the handling process and prevent further losses.) After which point you will be issued a full refund on your order.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Within 10 days of delivery - Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items

That item is now yours, we can only refund you in store credit for Shoplilliangrey.com if the item was damaged in the shipping process. (Some items have endured some alterations to their original state and will be sold AS IS. Please take note of each item's description to see if the unique character is suitable to you.)
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You have 7 days from the delivery date to initiate your return on NEW items only.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded in store credit once approved.
