An exceptional antique Vieux Paris porcelain covered tureen by Théodore Désiré Vion, beautifully hand decorated in Paris, France during the mid-19th century. Graceful in both form and decoration, this elegant pedestal tureen features a crisp white ground accented with rich fuchsia pink bands along the handles, rim, pedestal, and lid. Delicate hand-painted birds and floral sprays are enhanced with finely executed raised enamel beading, creating a wonderfully dimensional surface characteristic of the finest Paris porcelain. The underside bears the red “D. Vion, 45 Rue de Paradis, Paris” mark, identifying it as the work of Théodore Désiré Vion and dating the piece to approximately 1845–1875.
Founded in 1845, Théodore Désiré Vion and Charles Baury acquired the porcelain decorating firm on Rue de Paradis, where they quickly earned an international reputation for exceptional artistry. By 1855, their work was recognized among the finest decorative porcelains produced in Paris, and the firm later became an official supplier to Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III.
Remarkably well preserved for a piece approaching 175 years of age, the tureen remains in excellent antique condition with no cracks or crazing. The only condition note is one tiny chip along the edge of the lid, mentioned for complete accuracy and difficult to notice when displayed. Whether showcased in a china cabinet, displayed as the centerpiece of a buffet, or incorporated into an elegant French tablescape, this rare Vieux Paris tureen is both a beautiful decorative object and an enduring piece of French porcelain history.

We have a 7-day return policy on NEW items, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return. You will be refunded in store credit to be spent at Shoplilliangrey.com within 6 months.
Vintage and antique items cannot be refunded or returned unless it has been damaged in the shipping process. We require photos of the item(s) and packaging, (which will help us to assess the handling process and prevent further losses.) After which point you will be issued a full refund on your order.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Within 10 days of delivery - Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items

That item is now yours, we can only refund you in store credit for Shoplilliangrey.com if the item was damaged in the shipping process. (Some items have endured some alterations to their original state and will be sold AS IS. Please take note of each item's description to see if the unique character is suitable to you.)
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You have 7 days from the delivery date to initiate your return on NEW items only.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded in store credit once approved.
