A beautiful antique dinner plate in Spode’s iconic Tower pattern, produced by Copeland Spode in Stoke-on-Trent, England, during the early twentieth century. First introduced by Spode in 1814, Tower has remained one of the pottery’s most recognizable and enduring transferware patterns for more than two centuries. Its romantic landscape depicts the Ponte Salaro near Rome, derived from a late eighteenth-century view of the Italian countryside. Rendered in a wonderfully rich, dark cobalt blue against a warm creamy ground, the scene is surrounded by an elaborate floral border and distinctive gadrooned edge. These dinner plates can be dated precisely through their impressed factory date marks. Three bear the impressed “M24” mark, dating them to March 1924, while the fourth bears “A24,” dating it to April 1924. Now more than a century old, they are wonderfully preserved examples of early twentieth-century Copeland Spode and offer the opportunity to own a closely matched group produced within just two consecutive months. At approximately 10⅜ inches, these substantial dinner plates are beautiful used at the table and layer especially well with the coordinating Tower luncheon, salad and flat soup plates. Their richly detailed cobalt decoration also makes them striking displayed in a cabinet, hutch or blue and white plate wall. Very good antique condition with no chips or cracks. Minor surface or utensil wear and other signs of age consistent with pieces more than 100 years old may be present. Please review photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

We have a 7-day return policy on NEW items, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return. You will be refunded in store credit to be spent at Shoplilliangrey.com within 6 months.
Vintage and antique items cannot be refunded or returned unless it has been damaged in the shipping process. We require photos of the item(s) and packaging, (which will help us to assess the handling process and prevent further losses.) After which point you will be issued a full refund on your order.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You have 7 days from the delivery date to initiate your return on NEW items only.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded in store credit once approved.
