Vintage Blue & Pink Floral Lidded 9” Ginger Jar

Beautiful vintage WBI Chinese porcelain lidded floral ginger jar. Hand painted pink bouquets of flowers with striking green/turquoise leaves & gold highlights against a mottled dark blue background.

WBI stands for the World Banking Institute, which was formed in the mid-20th century. The Institute was formed to create jobs and stimulate the economy of underdeveloped nations on a global scale. The initials WBI started appearing on Chinese porcelain, mostly export, thereafter.

Marked on the underside with the World Banking Institute hallmark in red along with "Made in China".
