Pair of Vintage English Arthur Wood Staffordshire Spaniel Dogs, Cobalt Blue & White, c. 1930–1950 – 11.5”H

A beautiful large pair of English Staffordshire-style spaniel dogs by Arthur Wood, wonderfully rendered in crisp white ceramic with rich cobalt-blue detailing.

Each seated spaniel features deeply modeled fur, expressive hand-painted facial details, flowing cobalt ears and tail, and softly graduated blue accents along the paws and body. Their generous scale gives them wonderful decorative presence while retaining the classic character of traditional English mantel dogs.

Staffordshire spaniels have long been associated with English interiors, traditionally displayed in pairs on mantels, bookcases, or sideboards. This larger blue-and-white version is especially striking and works beautifully alongside transferware, chinoiserie, antique books, and other collected English ceramics.

The undersides retain impressed English factory markings consistent with Arthur Wood / Wood & Son production.
