Antique Birdseye Maple Framed Children's Nursery Rhyme Prints

Fabulous set of six 19th Century Randolph Caldecott prints in birdseye maple veneer frames with gilded trim. The prints are after illustrations by famed British artist and illustrator Randolph Caldecott ~ Chester, England (1846-1886) for the children's nursery rhyme books "Sing a Song of Sixpence" and "The Milkmaid."

The Caldecott Medal was named in his honor and is to be given to the artist who had creates the most distinguished picture book of the year.

Very good condition with minor wear and imperfections consistent with age/use. Loss to veneer on corner of one frame and cracks to veneer on others. Veneer lifting slightly in some areas.
