A beautiful pair of vintage Wedgwood Torbay Green dinner plates, dating to approximately the late 1920s–1930s. Rendered in a soft green transferware against a creamy white ground, each plate features a different romantic landscape scene with classical architecture, garden follies, water, boats and figures. The Torbay pattern was introduced circa 1927 and was produced on Wedgwood’s distinctive Patrician shape. The Patrician form is particularly recognizable for its wonderfully sculptural Renaissance-inspired border, richly embossed with scrolling foliage and stylized floral motifs. A delicate green leaf border and fine green line along the outer rim beautifully frame the raised decoration. Although the two plates coordinate, each features a different central scene, adding to their collected charm and making them especially lovely displayed together. Their green-and-white palette works beautifully mixed with antique and vintage transferware, green majolica and other botanical pieces. Wonderful incorporated into a plate wall, displayed in a cabinet, layered on a table, or simply enjoyed as examples of early 20th-century Wedgwood. The reverse of each bears the period “Made in England, Wedgwood Patrician” backstamp with U.S.A. Design Patent 74,009, a patent reference associated with the Patrician design, along with impressed Wedgwood markings. The early Patrician marking, combined with Torbay’s circa-1927 introduction, places these examples in approximately the late 1920s to 1930s.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. As vintage pieces approaching a century in age, minor signs of age and use may be present.
Measurements: Approximately 10½” diameter each.

Vintage and antique items cannot be refunded or returned unless it has been damaged in the shipping process. We require photos of the item(s) and packaging, (which will help us to assess the handling process and prevent further losses.) After which point you will be issued a full refund on your order.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Within 10 days of delivery - Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items

Each item has its own unique story, if you are not happy with the item then we hope we can continue your story with our company and find something that suits you better. That item is now yours, we can only refund you in store credit for Shoplilliangrey.com if the item was damaged in the shipping process. (Some items have endured some alterations to their original state and will be sold AS IS. Please take note of each item's description to see if the unique character is suitable to you.)
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You have 7 days from the delivery date to initiate your return on NEW items only.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded in store credit once approved.
